Christmas and More

It is always amazing to me how fast this time of the year goes by. It is on us in a moment, and gone just as fast. Things were definately a little nuts around here for Christmas, but we had so much fun. Kale was so excited about Christmas this year. After sunday school, Kale was so excited about it being Jesus' birthday. He had big plans to make Jesus a birthday cake, and called all christmas trees happy birthday trees. Very cute.

Christmas Day was so much fun. Both kids got a little overwhelmed by the end, and of course fought over EVERYTHING. Kale wanted Alana's toys, and Alana wanted his. It was fun to watch Kale really getting into ripping open presents, but after a while he was frustrated with us taking toys away and giving him something else to open. Oh, and why do they need to pack toys quite so well? It shouldn't take 20 minutes to get one toy out of a box.

Alana's favorite toys were her new purse, complete with keys and cell phone and her tiara. She immediately picked up the cell phone and said "hello?". The tiara was to replace the cardboard birthday one that just wasnt' up for day-to-day wear. She was so excited about her new one and kept saying "pretty" over and over.

After the excitement of Christmas, New Years was definately low-key. January is already going by so fast. Dave has been very busy with work projects and production, which is great for them, but we miss seeing him at home.

Alana is finally walking! Thank the Lord! Last weekend she just took off accross the room, and hasn't stopped. I am so thankful that she is finally walking on her own. She is just too big to carry around for long. She is quite proud of herself of course, although she is beating up on her brother more and more.

Kale is turning into more and more of a chatterbox. Sometimes the things he comes up with make me laugh so hard. He is not lacking in imagination, that's for sure. He is also getting more willing to sit and play games like candy land. He still gets impatient and just decides when he wins, but we're making progress.

I guess that is all for now. Here's hoping the new year brings me more time to keep this updated!
