Fun in the Sun

We were so blessed to finally have a Saturday at home all together. And having it be almost 70 degrees made it even better! Dave didn't have to work on Saturday for the first time in a month or more, so we got to play all day.

We took the kids for a walk to the park and played with some of the other kids there for a while. Alana has decided that she loves to swing, and was so funny about not wanting to do anything else. Of course, until she slid off the swing on accident and decided that the slide might be a little more safe.

After the kids got bored with the playground, we walked over and watched part of a baseball game that was going on. Kaleb loves to watch sports of any kind. Then he wanted to go play on another empty baseball field. Kaleb and Dave ran the bases, and then we all had snacks. (it wasn't really time yet, but once Alana found the food, it was all over).

After naptime, they were asking to go outside again right away. They were running all over the yard, holding hands. Kaleb is finally starting to show an interest in his bike, although he hasn't figured out the pedals yet. Alana helps by pushing the bike along for him.
They both absolutely love playing outside, and are ready to go no matter what the weather. I admit I'm a little more of a wimp when it comes the the temperatures, so it is nice to see things warming up for spring. The kids definately sleep better when they have been running outside all day!

New Beds

Today we put up Kaleb's new big boy bed. He helped Daddy put it together and was so excited. Alana was trying to help too, but mostly wanted to climb on everything.

Kale picked out his sheets and blankets. It was a tough choice between Lightning McQueen, or the trucks. The trucks won out, which was great by me since it worked in his room a little better.

Kaleb's old toddler bed was moved into Alana's room, and she picked out princess bedding to go on her bed. She was excited to read stories on it before bed, but is still sleeping in her crib for the time being. We'll give her a little more time to get used to the idea before having her switch. Ideally we will have her out of the crib in plenty of time for her sister, but we'll see.
