Montana Trip Part 2

Next stop on the trip was Bozeman. The weather wasn't great, rainy and a little chilly, but we got to see a good thunderstorm.

I got to take the kids on their first hike, up to Palisaide Falls up Hyalite Canyon. It is an easy hike, I think less than half a mile and paved so Jaylee could be in a stroller.

Kale and Alana were so excited when they could start to hear the waterfall and know that we were getting close.

Kaleb and Alana wanted to climb up, but discovered that climbing up the loose rocks wasn't as easy as it looked. They would climb up a ways, then need help coming back down.
Everyone put their hands in the runoff from the waterfall. The kids were amazed at how cold it was. They were also impressed that there was still snow in the woods.

Montana Vacation Part 1

The kids and I did a trip by ourselves to Montana while Dave was traveling for work. I had forgotten what a long drive that is to do by myself, but the kids really did well. I do have to say, I am so very thankful for a DVD player in the car!

We visited my friend Starsha and her family in Helena, which was a lot of fun. We were blessed with wonderful weather which meant a great picnic at the park.

They called this the "Rocket Swing" and loved that they could go so high in it.

Alana, Jaylee, and Selah. Alana says Selah is her best friend, and has been talking about her consistently since we were there. They were so sweet playing together.

Summer is here, and it has been HOT! We spent Friday at Grammy's house because our car was in the shop. Kaleb and Jaylee had so much fun playing in the sprinkler. Kaleb actually got wet! He has never liked having water in his face or on his head, but he loved the sprinkler and was very brave!

Jaylee however, has never been shy around the water. She was putting her face directly in the sprinkler saying "It tickles!" And then she put the hose in her diaper. She found that very funny.

Alana wasn't willing to get in the sprinkler for whatever reason. She did have fun playing on the patio in her swimsuit. She and Jaylee were being silly together.

Jaylee sitting on her new potty seat. She doesn't really grasp the concept of actually going potty in the toilet yet, but she loves her seat. Up and down, up and down. Over and over.

Last night, she tried to steal Alana's panties while I was getting them dressed for bed. I told her panties are for big girls that use the potty. She dropped them, turned around and marched right into the bathroom and sat on the potty. Nothing came out, but here's hoping it really will be that easy. I am not potty training her yet, just letting her sit on the potty when she wants to. I am in no rush, but she is acting pretty ready, and definitely has the vocabulary to tell us. We'll see.
